About Our Client

The main purpose of the role will be to supporting the business in making it easier for audiences to access various channels and services, improving understanding of the role and marketing team, promoting service and protecting and enhancing reputation.

Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Assist and support the development of communication strategies - liaising directly with stakeholders, executives and management
  • Initiate and develop effective marketing and media campaigns to promote the organisation to the correct target market
  • Lead on complex and often high profile communications campaigns and projects
  • Keep up to date with developments and share findings and champion opportunities that these could present to the organisation
  • Promote and protect branding through effective advice and coordination of all external communications
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, journalists, editors, and other contributors and commentators in the press and media
  • Ensure all in-bound media, stakeholder and customer enquiries are dealt with accurately and on time and develop the team's online presence
  • Brief the Chair and other senior members of staff before media appearances, external event and visits
  • Prepare and deliver responses to media enquiries, stakeholder requests and comments on social media, in line with our key strategic messages

The Successful Applicant

To ensure that your application is successful you must have experience within a similar role within the public sector. You will have a track record of initiating and delivering media relations activity and campaigns as well as managing reputational issues.

  • Experience working within a charity or health-care organisation is desired
