Job Description

Responsibility for financial analysis and reporting:

  • All daily, monthly, quarterly and annual as well as ad hoc reporting for the Business Unit - including validation of daily P&L, monthly P&L and Balance Sheet,
  • Provide commentary on daily P&L, monthly income statement and to explain deviations from forecast and budget numbers.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet review with commentary on monthly moves
  • Ensure correct recording and reporting of all transactions

Assist the London Regulatory and Group reporting accountants

  • Ensure that the desk reports are accurately presented in final group reporting systems for reporting to both home base Regulator as well as the UK regulator.
  • Have a thorough understanding of positions and drivers of movement in these positions to provide monthly commentary for the desk regulatory return.
  • Analyse and clear queries arising on consolidation with reference to the desk
  • Pass adjusting journals/ensure corrections to source where necessary

Legal Entity Maintenance, Statutory and Regulatory reporting

  • General ledger maintenance for Separate Legal Entity
  • Produce monthly Statutory and Regulatory reporting for Separate Legal Entity
  • Produce Annual Financial Statements for Separate Legal Entity
  • Liaise with external audit in respect of annual external audit of Separate Legal Entity

Additional/Ad hoc requirements

  • Design and Production of Desk monthly MIS
  • Be alert for ways to enhance reporting and, as the business changes, adapt reporting accordingly
  • Working with local BU stakeholders to assist with ad hoc or regular analysis to assist them to understand, build and manage their businesses.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of all significant deals and their associated risks
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and regulatory rules
  • Assist with annual budgeting process for relevant units.

The Successful Applicant

Successful candidates will ideally posses the below qualifications:

  •  Global Markets and/or structure debt experience an advantage but not a requirement
  • Qualified Accountant with 5+ years PQE
  •  Good understanding of financial terms and principles with commercial and business acumen
  •  Strong Excel skills
  •  Deadline driven
  •  Analysis and Attention to Detail
  •  Time and Self-Management
