Based in central London, the client is a leader in the development of housing projects across the capital and is engaged in multiple major ground-breaking projects against a backdrop of a £1.3 billion development pipeline.

Job Description

As a Senior Development Manager you will oversee the development of the local authority's land assets, and have the chance to affect real change to the lives of local residents by creating exciting spaces for the community. You will successfully balance this delivery against the need to drive returns on value and reduce project debt.

You will thrive on leading projects through all stages of their cycles, from initiation, through to design and specification and finally to the build-out and delivery stage.

You will make recommendations to the Strategic Director / Cabinet Member on commercial arrangements and development agreements relating to projects.

You will ensure that all commercial aspects of development schemes within the Major Projects remit are considered to ensure the best possible outcome for the local authority.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Senior Development Manager role will recognise that this position provides the rare opportunity to impact meaningful change to a host of major community development projects across London and will have considerable experience of negotiating and managing complex multiple use projects. In order to be considered you must:

  • Have good knowledge of the construction industry
  • On-site experience of managing development projects
  • A sound working knowledge of health and safety legislation (relating to the management of buildings and works)
  • A basis understanding of local government practices and procedures, including financial regulations, European Union Regulations and procurement practices.
  • A professional qualification in commerce, law or a building related discipline.
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience with demonstrable experience of delivering projects.

What's on Offer

£60,000 - £70,000; bonus; pension; 30 days annual leave
