About Our Client

The strategic financial planning analyst will be working closely with the Director of Strategic Planning and will be responsible for generating sales reports to support the needs of the Sales teams and ensure they have the current sales information available.

  • The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining underlying Sales data and supporting the regular and ad-hoc reports.
  • Responsible for working directly with efforts sales teams across multiple international markets to quantify weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets relative to budgets and targets.
  • Assist in the preparation of Budgets and Long Range plans.
  • Produce ad-hoc management reports - Reports may range from pricing and inventory to category and client detail revenue and will entail working with revenue and traffic databases to sift through data, analyse and eventually extract and synthesise key relevant information
  • This position is integral to managing in advertising revenue across TV networks and websites.

Job Description

As part of the Finance Business Partnering team, this role has the responsibility for budgeting and forecasting across the EMEA function and working closely with divisional heads of cross disciplines.

The role reports into the Head of Finance and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Production of the annual budget, LRP, and monthly forecasts for shared programming assets and spend, dubbing and subbing.
  • Ensuring data is loaded in to the reporting system accurately and on a timely basis, and that all time-lines, processes and controls are adhered to, in line with company policy.
  • Provision of variance analysis (eg actuals versus budget, actuals versus forecast comparison), ad hoc analysis as required, focusing on delivering actionable business insights.
  • Provide analysis and data to the Chief Content Officers and central and local Programming and Acquisitions teams to help them plan future programming spend requirements.
  • Provide analysis and data to the VP Media Distribution, EMEA Sales Director and Digital Commercial Development Director to help them monitor sales performance and contribution margin. Maintain the EMEA Digital P&L. Develop and maintain a Syndication P&L.
  • Prepare EMEA Franchise P&L.
  • Assist the Head of Finance to provide analysis and forecasts for any programming related M&A activity, business cases for product or service launches and ROI analysis.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly reporting schedules to US.
  • Business Partner with the Finance Shared Service Centre to gain a full understanding of management and statutory reporting of programming spend and expenses. Collaborate on the resolution of any accounting or transactional issues, liaising with the business as required.
  • Be a change agent in optimising workflows and data analysis tools to focus finance resources (central and local) on providing valuable insights and data.
  • Assist the Head of Finance to train relevant business contacts to use and understand programming finance business tools and systems.
  • Work with the Head of Finance to improve processes and systems on an on-going basis.

The Successful Applicant

This person will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Fully newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA)
  • Significant FP&A experience
  • Experience working with a high volume of data
  • Strong Excel Skills ( ideally modelling)
  • Computer literate - Peoplesoft, Hyperion or similar
  • Media experience desirable
  • Strong communicator
