A growing National organisation based in North Oxfordshire.

Job Description

  • To support the Finance Manager in the implementation of the strategic plan, by ensuring the provision of efficient, consistent and the cost effective delivery of accountancy services within the designated areas of responsibility.
  • To be responsible for the production of information related to financial performance reporting, assisting with the production of monthly management accounts.
  • To ensure the integrity of the budget system, ensuring that for the designated areas of responsibility, budgetary control system is maintained and highlighting significant departures from the plan to the senior finance team and senior managers.
  • To provide designated budget managers with a comprehensive management accounting service, producing prompt and accurate budget statements and provide other financial information.
  • To assist the Finance Manager in the review designated budgets, identifying opportunities which may contribute towards Cost Improvement Plans.
  • To monitor costs regularly to ensure the most effective use is made of staff and non-pay budgets.
  • To review requests for the initiation of new nominal accounts and costs centres communicating with managers any reason for their requests being refused.
  • To produce information related to pricing, costing and other contracting issues.
  • To provide information required for the production of monthly Board Reports, including the reconciled trial balance and other financial information in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To undertake the introduction and/or implementation of new financial accounting systems to the team, ensuring that all staff are confident and competent in their use.
  • To help support meeting financial objectives.
  • To ensure that all transactions within the remit of this post follow a clear and identifiable audit trail.

The Successful Applicant

Essential Technical Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

* Accounting Skills.

* MS Excel proficiency.

* Experience with SAP ERP system.

* Team working skills.

* Deadline orientated.

* Corporation Tax, VAT, Personal Tax.

* Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACCA, ACA preferred)
