About Our Client

Our client is a fast growing business operating within the Financial Services sector.

Job Description

  • Accountable for the cost planning process covering elements of servicing, IT, Infrastructure and business transformation, projects and change programmes, overheads and people costs (including strategic planning and budgeting and forecasting) and the provision of cost analysis and insight to support strategic decisions.
  • Responsible for the accurate, timely and well controlled monthly close process and reporting of monthly costs to the finance team, CPO, COO and team, and wider business
  • Accountable for the Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting process for the specific area of cost responsibility, ensuring a cohesive planning cycle which informs and challenges the business in making key strategic decisions
  • Accountable for a planning process which will provide review, challenge and interpretation of all material variances against plan, budget, forecast or prior year to ensure Group Board, Exco, Cost Centre Managers and the finance team have a full understanding of the value drivers and the relevant business areas' financial position
  • Define, analyse and interpret and report Group cost information and results, determining and recommending courses of action to drive value and manage and improve business unit and Group financial performance.
  • Partnering the business and interpreting, monitoring, analysing and reporting on the Group's BAU cost performance and investments.
  • Responsible for the monthly cost numbers reported in both P&L and the balance sheet management of all associated accruals and balances relating to business costs, including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Management of the cost analyst responsible for supporting the monthly close, reporting and forecasting of costs
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders and the finance community

The Successful Applicant

  • Making good decisions; managing the customer relationship; developing the strategy; delivering business results; influencing; bringing innovation to problem solving, making change work
  • Likely to be a qualified accountant with proven experience operating in a manager role
  • Proven ability in the use of financial analysis and modelling
  • Strong financial control awareness, particularly around balance sheet reconciliations and monthly close process
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Confident in communicating at all levels of an organisation
  • Able to explain financial information and accounting concepts to financial and non-financial managers alike
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
