A global transaction bank, offering a full suite of trade and correspondent banking solutions and investment management services to financial institutions, governments, NGOs, and corporate and commercial enterprises.

This role is initially based in Sutton with plans to move the business into central London in 6-8 months.

Job Description

Senior Finance Project Manager role will require candidates to shape and deliver major finance change initiatives as a Project Manager. It will require regular liaison with the business and IT. The role will require a candidate to get into the detail of project delivery. Projects will include:

  • Create new Target Operating models for IT processes
  • Implement a new General Ledger
  • Implement a new trade data warehouse
  • Implementing MIS systems.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • To work with key stakeholders to ensure assigned projects are appropriately planned and monitored from a schedule, risk, issue, dependency, supplier and benefits realisation perspective.
  • To ensure project plans are agreed, documented and 'baselined' with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • To ensure projects are, and remain, aligned with the strategic roadmap
  • To ensure the projects and working practices comply with internal Change governance procedures and controls

Main Activities:

  • Provide regular reporting and materials to support internal Change governance procedures and controls
  • To ensure key project decisions, changes, actions, meeting attendees, directions are recorded and addressed
  • To ensure changes in business processes are documented and understood by the impacted functional area.
  • To liaise with key stakeholders from business operations teams and internal and external support functions to ensure an effective handover to business as usual.
  • Act as a Business Analyst on project delivery.

The Successful Applicant

Senior Finance Project Manager Skills:

  • Exposure to end to end systems project delivery in financial services

  • A good understanding of data and financial reporting will be a requirement for this role

  • Excellent administrative and time management skills.
  • Well organised and detail orientated.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Flexible, self-motivated and proactive with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Good communication skills and ability to deal with people at all levels.
  • Quick learner with the ability to multi-task.
  • IT skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project and MS Visio and Outlook. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/WDX, Figaro, BITA an advantage.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Appropriate academic qualifications. Ideally educated to degree, or equivalent, level.
  • Ability to produce high quality, accurate reporting.
  • Experience delivering projects
  • Strong hands on analyst experience.
  • Managerial and/or Supervisory experience.
