About Our Client

The client is an Established Housing Organisation based in London.

Job Description

The key responsibilities will include:

- To ensure financial accounts in the ledgers of all entities in the group are maintained in accordance with group accounting policies.

- To calculate the depreciation and component accounting for all Housing entities.

- To ensure that financial postings for capitalised interest and salaries are prepared in line with group policy.

- To ensure full compliance with component accounting and FRS 102.

- To maintain integrity of financial Accounts by regular review, and ensuring control accounts and reconciliations are completed.

- To ensure that the income (including rents and sales ledger postings) for the Housing and Community legal entities are correctly accounted for and reconciled monthly.

- Ensure interfaces with the Sales Ledger and Housing systems are reconciled and all transactions are accurately posted into the Nominal Ledger.

- To ensure the provision of excellent customer service to all stakeholders in order to maximise customer satisfaction.

- To lead motivate and develop the team and continually demonstrate leadership behaviours, skills and capabilities in line with LAMP.

- Provide coaching and mentoring support to direct reports where required.

The Successful Applicant

Required:

-Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

-Detailed knowledge and practical experience of accounting under UK GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

-High level knowledge of spreadsheets (excel) and accounting software (Sun Accounts).

-Ability to effectively communicate financial concepts/statistics to non-finance staff.

-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.

-Ability to work collaboratively across with other teams. Knowledge of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for Housing Associations

Desirable:

-FRS 102 implementation in Housing Sector

-Sound knowledge of VAT and corporation tax principles.

What's on Offer

The client is offering a 12 month contract at a daily rate of £250-£350.
