This company, based in North West London is a division of an international medical manufacturing and production group with offices in America, Europe and Asia.

Job Description

The main responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst role are:

  • Consolidation & Reporting
    • Prepare consolidated Journal entries to record monthly transactions;
    • Assist in preparation of the Consolidated Results
    • Provide appropriate variance analysis of the company consolidated results
    • Reconciliation of intra group trading and balances
    • Calculation of embedded intra group profit
    • Preparation of monthly reporting package, including supplemental schedules for detail fixed assets, intangibles, and accounts receivable fluctuations
    • Consolidated reporting as required.

  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Budget Analysis - monthly budget to actual and prior year analysis
    • Analysis and reporting on balance sheet accounts and trends
    • Preparation of summaries and reports for management review including trend analysis for sales and profitability
    • Preparation of routine and ad-hoc sales revenue and margin analysis
    • Revenue discounting analysis
    • Cost saving analysis and modelling

  • Transfer Pricing
    • Assist Director of Finance and Corporate Controller and Treasurer in analysis of transfer pricing and implementation of resulting contracts and or adjustments.
  • Royalty Calculation and Management
    • Responsible for reporting of royalties to License Holders
    • Oversight of royalty calculations and processes

  • Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls compliance
    • Maintenance of Finance department policies and procedures;
    • Maintenance of documentation of system of internal controls; and
    • Assistance in testing of internal controls as needed.
  • Financial Applications Implementations
    • Oversee implementation of new financial applications within the company
    • Assist in implementation of new corporate applications
  • Tariff Codes
    • Assist in monitoring and maintaining approved Harmonised Tariff Codes within the Group
  • Other
    • Preparation and Oversight of commission and bonus calculations
    • Monitor cash flows and working capital requirements
    • Assist with the year-end process, working with Group and the external audit and tax

The Successful Applicant

The candidate should have, but not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge of accounting, finance principles, including UK and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong accounting and query system knowledge (AS400 Accounting Software {Mapics IFM}, AS400 query, Mapics Analytics Software {GPS} or equivalent)
  • Computer proficiency along with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Be a self-starter, detail oriented and organised and able to prioritise and balance workloads and meet strict critical deadlines along with performing under pressure in a fast- paced environment.
  • Highly motivated, readily adapts to changing priorities, effectively manages own time
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • A desire to work for an SME
  • Previous experience of Manufacturing and Production
