Job Description

The Senior FP&A Manager will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Deliver reporting and insightful performance analysis to Group management of actual performance, Budget, forecasts and three year plan processes
  • Work with senior management of the Retail International businesses, including co-ordinating processes and challenging business performance
  • Review investment business cases for alignment with the Group's strategic and commercial objectives, returns hurdle rates and quality standards

Other duties include:

  • Reviewing and challenging International submissions during the Monthly, Budget, Forecast and Plan cycles
  • Preparing, in co-ordination with Divisional management, Board report analysis and commentary for these key cycles
  • Reviewing and challenging investment and strategic business cases to ensure they are aligned with the Group's strategic and commercial objectives, meet the Group's returns hurdle rates and quality standards
  • Ensuring ad-hoc information requests are responded to efficiently and effectively with insightful analysis and commentary
  • Partnering with and challenging the International finance team in delivery of its financial targets, along with any corrective actions to address performance or controls issues
  • Supporting Divisional management to enhance the quality of reporting from operating businesses
  • Involvement in and ownership of corporate projects throughout the year, as required.
  • Review of daily cash variances and cash forecasts to identify any issues and agree any corrective actions with the Divisional management team

The Successful Applicant

What you'll need to be successful in this role:

  • ACA (or similar) qualification gained at a Big 4 practice or within a Blue Chip environment, with demonstrable and strong post-qualification experience/Big 4 Transaction Services experience.
  • A track record of developing and maintaining relationships with senior management within a complex organisation
  • Previous FP&A or reporting experience including experience of driving improvement in reporting, forecasting cycles
  • Demonstrable commercial aptitude
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior business management and create credibility and impact through these relationships
  • Demonstrable commercial and business awareness, able to leverage this understanding when challenging strategic decisions with senior management
  • A resilient individual with excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence at multiple levels across the organisation
  • Motivated, self-starter with a track record of contributing effectively to delivering improvements, best practices approaches as well as the day-to-day tasks as part of a team,
  • Ability to plan effectively to deliver multiple projects to tight deadlines and adapt to changes with pace and agility
  • Strong analytical capability and demonstrable attention to detail

In addition, the following would be desirable

  • European language skills
  • Relevant (retail) industry experience
  • Experience of consolidation/financial reporting systems - e.g. Hyperion, Cognos Controller, Cognos TM1
