Job Description

Manage recruiting strategies and processes for hires, including working with staffing Partners to determine needs, communicating with search firms, and overseeing the interview, decision making and offer processes

Oversee on-campus/job fair interview preparation

Work with Recruiting Partners to manage candidate offers and terms and assist the integration of new associates

Explore and develop opportunities for outreach to students and potential recruits, cultivate and maintain relationships with schools, students, law firms, agencies and alumni;

Work with Recruiting to plan, organize, coordinate and execute Summer Associate Program in London

Serve as point of contact to provide program details to incoming summer associates

Work with Director, attorneys, departments and branch offices to update marketing materials for recruiting events

Create and foster relationships with schools and diverse professional associations to identify opportunities and implement best practices related to recruitment

Compile and analyze competitive data, best practices and trends in legal recruitment; make recommendations to adopt best practices where appropriate

Perform other duties as assigned Legal Personnel and Professional Development:

Oversee new lawyer orientation and integration

Work closely with the NY Legal Personnel on incoming Associate-related responsibilities; lead communication efforts and facilitate internal processes in advance of Associate arrivals

Work closely with Directors, Diversity and other managers within the department on various initiatives and programs addressing Associate feedback, work-life balance and Associate retention

Coordinate arrival process for incoming attorneys

Serve as contact for Associates for questions and logistics regarding departure-related responsibilities, attorney departure, exit interview and transition;

Assist with communicating and reinforcing various legal personnel policies, such as diary compliance, vacation tracking, processing and approval of related T & E, and compliance

Serve as a resource to attorneys and provide guidance and direction on Firm policies, procedures and standards in support of the Firm's strategic goals, objectives and initiatives

Assist partners with Mentoring Programme

Work with Practice Groups and training managers and London professional support lawyer to plan educational programs throughout the year

Liaise with staffing partners regarding activity levels and professional development opportunities

Assist with International Associate Program oversight, including liaising with program partner facilitators, managing incoming and outgoing international associate program participants and immigration needs

Act as primary contact and coordinate with HR & Payroll regarding changes in legal personnel status

Cultivate relationships with counterparts at peer firms in the City of London

Assist with the annual departmental budget

Oversee secondment arrangements, including liaising with

relationship partner, the seconded Associate and relevant


Perform other duties as assigned

The Successful Applicant

Five or more years' experience with elements of the


Legal recruitment

Graduate recruitment

Human resources expertise

Implementation of orientation and departure processes

Learning and professional development programming

Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate both internally and externally

Excellent organisational, planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with people at all levels, including Partners and clients;

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion

Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems and experience with databases

Knowledge of document management systems
