Job Description

Working in a Public Sector focused business, the successful candidate as a, will primarily perform routine financially- based audit assignments as well as non- financial audit assignments on an ad-hoc basis.

Working in an audit and consultancy business allows the opportunity to explore different businesses and develop an understanding of operational processes across the public sector. If variety in your work life without the travel is what you have been looking for, this could be the right role for you.

The understanding of risk management and assurance principles will be of benefit in the planning and delivery of audit assignments and being in a senior position opens up the opportunity to supervise and coach junior members of staff.

Decision making, autonomy and customer- focus is integral to the role and communication is a key element to this role. Being in a Senior Internal auditor position involves discussions with senior staff as well as the ability to explain complicated issues to non-finance staff.

The Successful Applicant

Part-qualified CCAB or IIA plus experience knowledge OR AAT qualified plus demonstrable post- qualified experience knowledge and skills OR

Relevant degree plus significant relevant experience in audit, a financial role or specialist experience.

Supervisory experience is preferable but not essential. Most importantly, the successful candidate must have good communication skills, the ability to negotiate and persuade, as well as strong computer literacy.
