Based in the luxury market our client boasts a diverse range of products across their department stores. Customer experience within the Fashion Department is very important for our client and the aim is to provide a a fantastic range of garments throughout the year to put together the look of each season.

Job Description

Essential to this role will be delivering the sales, profit and stock targets that allow the business to be commercially successful and provide a diverse range of products to customers. Collaborating with trading colleagues is integral to the role and making informed decisions with regard to action plans is key. Fashion is an important aspect of the business and has significant financial impact so driving profitability is vital. The successful candidate will report directly into the Head of Merchandising. The role will contain a diverse set of challenges and so will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Guide and develop forward plans in a dynamic market to produce comprehensive outlines and actions for individual categories.
  • Analysing and reporting data from sales, profit and stock to inform key figures in the business
  • Process Management with regard to managing risk and opportunities to ensure targets are consistently met within the business.
  • Working closely with the Buying Team
  • Negotiating with external Suppliers
  • Managing all aspects of inventory management alongside supply chain activity

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be familiar with working to KPIs and annual targets. Therefore it is imperative to have the ability to overcome challenges and remain positive at all times. In addition, experience managing junior merchandisers is essential. The candidate will also have a clear and direct approach to their work based on current trading conditions. Due to the responsibility the role offers the ability to create a positive team culture will be important for nurturing talent within the business. In addition to the aforementioned essential qualities the following traits are desirable:
