Job Description

The senior OTC/ETD/ Trade Support will;

  • Pro-actively partner with Enterprises, Groups and Functions to provide day-to-day trading support, education, insight and advise on exchange listed futures, options and OTC derivatives. Two important aspects of this include managing trading related risk issues & risk mitigation and applying best practice daily procedures and trading controls.
  • Lead projects related to trading with company project teams, Enterprises, Groups and Functions. This includes acting as the business lead to ensure business requirements are effectively discussed, defined and documented to a high standard and constructively challenging the project teams and the businesses to ensure the ultimate business benefits are achieved.
  • Effectively manage and work with service providers such as clearing brokers, executing brokers, exchanges and trading technology vendors, including monitoring customer service and trading support
  • Build effective ongoing operational support and monitoring processes for voice and electronic trading across the company and with service providers that allow for continuous improvement (enhancements, upgrades, changes, new systems and processes) and track progress (issues, resolution times, root causes, mitigation steps) through metrics and service levels.
  • This position may be required to supervise people in the form of direct reports or when leading projects. This requires the role to engage, motivate and development teams to achieve high performance.

The Successful Applicant

The senior OTC/ETD/ Trade Support will have;

  • University degree (or equivalent qualification) or substantial practical experience
  • Practical experience within voice and electronic trading futures, options and OTC derivatives trading environments, including trading technology and trading support
  • Proven experience in exchange listed futures, options and OTC cleared derivatives and other relevant financial instruments, with an emphasis on commodities
  • Exceptional ability to apply operational expertise in identifying and addressing financial and operational risks with solid decision making and follow through on best practice procedures and controls
  • Proven track record as senior business lead in the application of business, operations, technology and process expertise to define, document, lead and deliver key derivatives clearing projects that bring about effective change
  • Practical experience and understanding of working in a regulated derivatives environment with compliance teams and applying regulatory requirements to trading platforms and infrastructure
  • Good experience in leading, motivating and managing teams with high engagement, development and growth of team members and positive overall team results.

  • Clear ability to understand and analyze trading and clearing rules and requirements to make effective timely decisions and escalations with strong detail orientation and accuracy
  • Skilled in managing service providers, including monitoring and tracking support and customer service
  • Ability to understand and design clearing technology and system requirements and work with IT teams

  • Willingness to travel (Global travel may be required up to 15%)
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, logic and decision making
  • Strong organisational skills, multi-tasking and project planning skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the company to deliver goals

  • Personality and gravitas to build strong and collaborative internal and external business relationships and push back as a strong business partner where necessary
