Job Description

Advise internal stakeholders within the School on priorities relating to internal and external communications.

To work with stakeholders to enhance the school website, advising on best practice and to ensure this meets brand guidelines.

To work with the PR Manager and identify relevant research and student success stories.

Work with the Brand team on appropriate communications and marketing activities, including digital channels.

Identify reputational issues and acting as the voice of the faculty to maintain the Schools reputation.

Develop, implement and evaluate the digital communications plan.

To guide direct reports to create new content, including but not limited to academic podcasts and videos, event promotions and student focuses videos to share across all platforms.

Ensuring the Schools events reflect in their standard and scope, the ambition of the School and its position; ensuring events newsletters are timely and informative.

Work closely with internal communications stakeholders; including the production of staff/student newsletters.

Monitor media coverage in relation to the faculty and the sector and report as appropriate.

To work with internal stakeholders to enhance the visibility of academic staff and students.

Manage qualitative and quantitative data analysis to report to School and university committees.

To assist and attend appropriate events, supporting filming/photography requests from the media and maintaining a database of trade press.

The Successful Applicant

First Degree or equivalent

Excellent standard of English

Interest in higher education issues

Excellent communication skills including excellent use of English both in formal documents and writing for the web

Knowledge and skill of composing and managing web content within a CMS.

Experience of delivering internal and external communications preferably within an academic, legal or public sector environment.

Planning and strategy experience of delivering quantitative and qualitative reports, influencing external relations strategies.

Working proactively with national or trade media, maintaining contacts databases and circulating relevant new items and articles.

Experience of designing web pages, writing and publishing content to online digital platforms including podcasts, videos - providing training and support where necessary.

Self motivated and focused on achieving results, ensuring delivery at the highest level.
