Job Description

  • Leading the development of sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Overseeing supplier pre-qualification and post award checks.
  • Contracting services and ensuring compliance with the relevant laws, regulations and the Prudential Group Governance Manual (save for property leases and licences) and to satisfy the objectives of the relevant business unit(s).
  • Liaising with business units to obtain clear guidelines and/or mandates on proposed procurement strategic initiatives.
  • Developing the source-to-pay (S2P) policies, processes and procedures for all spend within the scope of Corporate Property, and ensuring compliance.
  • Reporting on procurement performance and trends and making recommendations.
  • Managing reputational and regulatory risk.
  • Benchmarking service quality and value for money, identifying performance against market trends and opportunities for innovation.
  • Budgeting and forecasting supplier spend for Corporate Property contracts.

Ensuring compliance with the Group Governance Manual, including developing ACRs for relevant contracts.

The Successful Applicant

All employees are required to ensure that all duties and responsibilities that form part of their role are discharged in accordance with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974, and associated Regulations, and the arrangements and procedures set out in the Corporate Property Health & Safety Management System.


  • Education to degree level.
  • Ideally relevant professional qualification.
  • Strong experience of commercial management.
  • Strong financial and data analysis background.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience in developing procurement strategies (including risk management).
  • Technical and commercial knowledge of Corporate Property categories.
  • Strong understanding of types of market and market activity (for Corporate Property categories).
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and procurement tools and techniques.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Legal awareness.
  • Strong management capabilities.
  • Strong emotional intelligence.
  • Understands and appreciates the importance of using discretion.
  • Confident and assertive.
