About Our Client

The company that we are recruiting for is part of the Healthcare division and is one of the leading manufacturers and contract services providers (including product development) to the global nutrition, food supplements and health and beauty markets. In addition, the company also sells a range of laboratory reagents and undertakes tablet contract-manufacturing work for the industrial specialities sector.

The majority of products are manufactured to external customer orders and hence the environment is fast moving, changeable and demanding. They have developed a strong track record for successful new product development and work in close partnership with their customers to ensure that they have a steady pipeline of new product launches that are bespoke to them and their customer base.

Job Description

The Company wishes to appoint a full time Sales Manager to join a strong site based sales team of Sales Managers and Customer Service personnel. The person will report to the Sales Director and the key responsibilities of the position are as follows:

  • To manage the development of a diverse range of existing and prospective customers which will require travel within the UK and occasionally in Europe.
  • To make a significant contribution to the success of the business by securing profitable business opportunities, delivering strong growth in line with short and long term business forecasts and providing service standards to consistently exceed customer expectations.
  • The focus will be on the development and maintenance of sound profitable working relationships with major players within the consumer healthcare and food supplement industry. It will also involve seeking opportunities to promote the services of other companies within the division.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven technical Sales Manager who can develop long term relationships with business partners in a contract manufacturing environment with the following attributes:

  • Ideally educated to degree level, ideally a science based graduate
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience of helping bring new products to market
  • Excellent numeracy, business development and communications skills
  • Ability to drive and manage multiple customer development projects from inception to completion within short timescales in a fast moving manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable success of profitable business development in a business to business context possibly within the healthcare, food ingredients or speciality chemicals sectors
  • Demonstrable ability of working with production and technical management to meet customer requirements through a combination of new product development and excellent customer service
  • Ideally knowledge of consumer marketing and brand management
  • Based in North West England
