About Our Client

The purpose of this role is to drive and own forecasting of key performance drivers of risk adjusted income, including balances, yield, debt distribution and charge-offs across the portfolios ranging from near-prime to prime customer profiles.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:


  • Responsible for the accuracy of the forecasts while ensuring that the models follow a clearly laid out road map of evolution and enhancement
  • Support all medium and long term forecasting whilst engaging all stakeholders in Collections, Risk & Finance and ensure functional impacts are incorporated accurately and transparently
  • Drive the intra month forecasts and variance analyses for all key drivers of risk adjusted margin including yield, fee income and impairment

Insight and Monitoring:

  • Continually consider new forecast modelling methods, modelling technologies and other state-of-the-art forecast techniques driving customer insight and portfolio risk analytics and be an advocate for their consideration
  • Develop a complete suite of key risk performance reports with comprehensive variance analyses to budgeted expectations on risk adjusted income

Team Support:

  • Proactively communicate key messages to the Head of Forecasting to enable timely action to be taken

Partner Management:

  • Manage stakeholder relationships and influence colleagues at different levels to ensure required inputs are received in a timely manner

The Successful Applicant

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge & Experience:


  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA, ACA, CPA (OR OVERSEAS EQUIVALENT)
  • Significant relevant experience in a Data Analysis/FP&A role in financial services for unsecured loans or credit cards
  • An ability to generate commercial insight from raw data
  • Excellent SAS /SQL / advanced Excel Skills (incl. statistical and reference functions, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information in a clear and concise fashion
  • 2.1 (minimum) degree in a highly numerical discipline such as Economics, Operations research, Finance, Statistics, Engineering or similar


  • Proven skills in the application of forecasting methodologies and how and when to apply them (including regression and time series models), their limitations and associated quality measures
  • Knowledge and experience in econometric modelling or portfolio loss forecasting/IFRS will be an added advantage
  • FP&A background in unsecured loans / credit cards
