We are currently recruiting a newly created and unique position for the Hong Kong Jockey Club. With the new training centre in Conghua in China under development the Senior Supply Chain Manager of Veterinary Services primary purpose is to improve and ensure reliable end to end supply chain services for the Club's importation of veterinary drugs, clinical equipment, farrier items and consumables for the Conghua and Hong Kong sites.

Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Supply Chain Manager is to improve and ensure reliable end to end supply chain; availability, quality and pricing for our clients veterinary drugs, clinical equipment and consumables for their operations in both Hong Kong and China.

The major focus of the Senior Supply Chain Manager is to develop a supply line capable of meeting future needs for dual site/country operations and address the complexity and uncertainties of China’s import/customer regulatory environment while mitigating risk.

You will ensure successful importation of key products from current supply source into China, activate a strategy plan to start the development of PRC based sourcing and expand our clients existing supply network while cultivating key suppliers to enter the China market through a set of clear deliverables and objectives.

The senior Supply Chain Manager will run the tender process as necessary and work closely with the end users within the club in evaluating supplier submissions and support the awarding of contracts.
In addition, you will introduce key performance measures for selected supply categories and ensure and maintain a culture of continuous improvement with particular focus on total cost of ownership.
At all times excellent working relationships need to be cultivated with both suppliers and authorities so that the club will be treated as a priority customer and trusted organisation.

The Successful Applicant

We are happy to look at candidates from two specific backgrounds and welcome applicants from overseas.
  1. You will have a strong understanding of end-end supply chain and sourcing in Pharmaceuticals, Medical or Veterinary products. Ideally within APAC with exposure to developing markets.
  2. You will have specific, extensive and broad Industry knowledge of Animal healthcare products and suppliers. Preferably having worked in business development or sales focused roles.

A proven track record in optimizing value and risk mitigation, developing innovative yet practical solutions, ensuring compliance of all customs and regulatory issues as well as hands–on experiences across multiple locations is essential.

A strategic thinker with strong leadership and communication skills, you will have the ability to foster close relationships with key stakeholders and be proactive and continually seek opportunities for improvement.

Complete fluency in English is required. Cantonese a plus
