About Our Client

The Travel Commerce team works closely with Travel Editorial and Product and is part of the Commerce Dept.

The Travel Team leverages the Editorial content assets by developing retail propositions around them, such as package holidays, cruises, flights, hotels and city breaks, which are all promoted under the Travel brand and supported by multi-channel marketing activities.

Job Description

Key job responsibilities

  • Increase natural search traffic from Google and other search engines
  • Through a mixture of testing and creativity, generate ideas that will enable Travel to stand out from its competitors
  • Ensure that the travel site build and ongoing enhancements are SEO-friendly
  • Work with multi-functional team to execute travel business plan
  • Feedback on visual designs, content and built pages as to how they could be improved
  • Keep ahead of any changes to major search engines, be able to advise on strategic changes and mitigate negative effects
  • Increase organic traffic to key pages
  • Measurement of the effect of plans, communication of results and ability to use measurement to improve future performance and scale the SEO effort
  • Keyword research to drive traffic that engages with business proposition
  • Advise how site content and user journeys can be optimised for better conversion
  • Link building and consultation on SEM campaigns
  • Advising commerce, content and product teams on best practice and traffic projections for business cases

The Successful Applicant

Specific requirments / skills

  • Proven track record of designing and delivering SEO plans in a relevant business or sector (ideally within international travel or marketplace business)
  • Analytical - able to draw insight from data and use to help determine site development, UI design and media planning.
  • Strong understanding of tracking and attribution of efforts - connecting investment to return across the site
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work seamlessly with a cross-functional team of analysts, developers, marketers and product managers
  • Ability to think strategically, analyse and interpret market and consumer information
  • Proven ability to deliver positive outcomes in a fast-paced environment with the ability to take responsibility and multi-task in order to meet daily deadlines; having the tenacity to get things done is essential.
