About Our Client

Our client are a global business with a variety of brands. This Sourcing Manager will sit in their generic pharmaceuticals business and will contribute to the development of the sourcing strategy and the implementation of this within the context of the overall own brand business strategy.

Job Description

The Sourcing Manager's role requires an individual who has excellent negotiation skills, can be flexible, deliver at pace and who demonstrate the ability to develop strong internal and external cross-functional working relationships:

  • The formulation and implementation of sourcing strategies to support the European business
  • Optimising the regulatory strategies to support the sourcing objectives
  • Supporting the management and delivery of the new product development (NPD) plan.
  • Supporting the negotiation and implementation of new and existing contracts.
  • Ongoing delivery of cost of goods improvements whilst maintaining and improving service delivery (supplier management and development).
  • Development of strong, productive working relationships with suppliers and European colleagues.

The Successful Applicant

The Candidate:

  • Self-motivated, dynamic and tenacious individual with the ability and desire to work proactively
  • Proven track record of working effectively under pressure
  • Keen to learn and flexible in approach
  • Proven commercial acumen, relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical , planning and project management skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload and react to the changing needs of the business
  • Possesses a good understanding of cost modelling and factors influencing cost
  • Ability to persuade and influence internally and externally at a range of levels
  • Good working knowledge of Excel including familiarity with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Knowledge of Italian, French, Spanish or Portuguese an advantage but not a necessity
  • Educated to degree level or MCIPS qualified.
  • Demonstrable business experience in a commercial role
  • Experience of working with pharmaceuticals and in particular with generics desirable
  • Experience of working with overseas teams desirable
