Job Description

As a Space Planner based in the North West you will be responsible for the following:

  • To create and deliver merchandising solutions in line with category and merchandising guidelines as required by the category range strategy and in line with the merchandising principles set by the format team. As a key enabler the Micro Space Planner will need to ensure solutions enable the targeted sales/profit per metre, product distribution targets and SKU densities/stockholding targets are met ahead of formal approval by the Category Buyer.
  • Manage assigned planograms and review frequently ensuring kept up to date with NPD and discontinuations. Ensure these are communicated and executed in store and sales performance is reviewed monthly.
  • Extract and review epos data for analysis and range review. Interrogate any anomalies or non-compliance either through the area co-ordinator or with the store directly.
  • Co-ordinate in store promotions and liaise with the manufacturer / healthcare body to ensure any collateral is utilised effectively in store. Monitor the product performance for any product promotions.
  • Co-ordinate the Merchandise call logs and action with accordingly, escalating any unresolved or complex issues as required.
  • Assist in the management of the EPOS database including validation and creation of new products on the database, updating product flags to ensure meaningful insight with range reviews, resolve barcoding and pricing queries, general housekeeping and maintenance.

The Successful Applicant

For the role based in the North West you will need:

  • Knowledge of retail space planning (micro & macro).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate influence and build relationships effectively at all levels across the business.
  • Good level of financial understanding and numerical / analytic ability.
  • Proven track record of delivery and implementation in a fast moving pressurised environment.
  • Good IT Skills, particularly excel and space planning software
  • Graduate level or appropriate experience within a fast paced trading environment.
