About Our Client
The client are a leading Not For Profit organisation based in Leatherhead. They are very well established and rater top 100 Not For Profit Organisations to work for.
The Special Events Manager based in Leather head will work closely with the Marketing and Communications and Fundraising teams to manage the Special Events Strategy in conjunction with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing. The Special Events Manager will prepare budgets and advise managers on the feasibility of events, return on investment, marketing and communications strategies and explore new opportunities in the events market.
The Special Events Manager will live by the values of the Not For Profit Organisations and effectively communicate with committees and other supporters, over the telephone, through emails and also face to face to ensure the best possible outcome at all events.
Main areas of responsibility:
To lead and manage the busy programme of events inclusive of 4 main ones run in the year.
Oversee and support the timely processing of external enquiries
Recruit and communicate with guests and donors especially table hosts
Apply for, organise and take lead on Beneficiary Events
Take responsibility for agreed income and event targets
Engage and liaise with all fundrasing teams to secure event guests
Liaise with marketing and communications teams to secure celebrity support and media coverage
Ensure all events are consistent with building the Not For Profit Organisations brand portfolio
Monitor performance and provide accurately monthly reports
Develop marketing content to support promotion of the Special Events
Maintain event web pages and social media to ensure events are current and encourage guests to sign up
The Successful Applicant
You will have experience in:
Working in a professional fundraising environment
Operational budget setting and monitoring responsibility
The ability to build and maintain fruitful relationships
A clear understanding of Special Events Committees and networks
Clear and creative written communication skills
Have confidence in oral communication - face to face and over the telephone
Strong organisational skills
Strong MS Office knowledge and CRM database skills
Strong initiative and productiveness
The ability to meet and connect with all different types of people
Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience
A genuine interest in the NFP organisation
