To achieve their growth plans, they understand that they need the best people in the field representing their business, getting in front of Architects winning specifications and protecting them to order stage. This is a 360 degree project-led specification role.

This is a traditional specification role. The candidate will be provided with an existing customer list and project pipeline and in turn will create an area-specific business plan to tackle their territory.
The self-starter will schedule meetings within Architectural practices, delivering CPD's, working on project specifications and building relationships with key architects.
Of course, the work does not stop there… when the project has been specified it has to be protected.
This will require a pro-active, detailed orientated individual to find out which Main and Sub-Contractors are tendering for the work, so the project is managed successfully to fruition: Converted from specification to live project.
The Successful Applicant
The candidate will need a solid understanding of the specification process, which will have come from experience.
A successful track record in specification sales is a pre-requisite for this role. The candidate must:
- Be able to talk about customers they have and are working with and key projects they have won.
- Be able to explain how they built the relationships and how they won the project - this will demonstrate knowledge of working process and track record.
- Be on top of their figures! Know your sales targets and how you performed against them.
Ideally the candidate will come from a facades/roofing background although experience of specification sales and candidate calibre is more important.
A degree would be beneficial but is not essential for the role.
