A growing, global telecommunication business based in South West London.

Job Description

  • Advertising or Agency placement of vacancies
  • Preparation of all job descriptions
  • Screening of all applicants
  • Interviewing when appropriate
  • Negotiation of terms
  • Preparation of employment contracts
  • Notifications and liaison with IT regarding new starters and leavers - BYOD Scheme
  • Ensure policies are issued and signed by all new employees
  • Organisation of induction for new hires and training of procedures
  • Probationary periods
  • Various terminations/redundancies - liaison with lawyers; ensuring compliance throughout Europe with procedures and documentation
  • Management of any disciplinary or grievance procedures
  • Annual appraisal process
  • Maintenance of HR Database (iVantage) and generation of reports for management, auditors etc.
  • Maintenance and updates for intranet site - starters, leavers, holiday entitlement updates, enter bank holidays for each country
  • Maintenance and Update of Employee Handbook
  • Update organisation charts on a monthly basis
  • Approval for any non-statutory benefits across Europe eg Russian medical insurance

Payroll

  • Administration, processing and checking of payroll for 4 countries - all are outsourced but data input is required for the UK payroll and email notifications to all others
  • Liaison with European payroll companies regarding statutory benefits or company benefits, where appropriate and relevant tax implications for employees
  • Self-employed payroll (invoice-based from our Agents)
  • Preparation of monthly payroll summaries for Finance
  • Liaison with HMRC and resolution of all HMRC demands and queries
  • P11D preparation
  • PSA preparation
  • PTO accrual for Finance on a quarterly basis

The Successful Applicant

  • Ideally CIPD Qualified
  • Minimum 4 HR experience

SKILLS

  • Ability to establish relationships and credibility with people at all levels.
  • Self-starter with 'hands on' approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse projects.
  • Previous experience in Human Resource software systems, with data entry skills.
  • High level understanding of European Employment legislation
  • Excellent understanding of UK employment legislation
  • Strong commercial acumen, confidence with numbers

EXPERIENCE

  • This individual must demonstrate experience working with in a stand alone in an SME.
  • The individual must have proven success in complex problem analysis and resolution in an environment requiring excellent negotiating and conflict resolution skills, a tolerance for risk.
  • A well developed customer-driven, relationship-oriented management approach.
  • The individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills; an advanced capacity for effectively developing and present critical information to management.
  • The individual must demonstrate successful experience in maturity, power of conviction and good judgment leading to the ability to make timely, well-informed and tough decisions. Contain unquestioned integrity and personal values; a strong work ethic and proven capacity for adaptability.
  • A strong interpersonal and leadership profile. The candidate is energetic, creative and assertive. Personal presence, creditability, and integrity are critical attributes if he or she is to effectively command the respect and trust of key individuals. Equally, the candidate must have strong leadership skills in order to motivate, develop, empower and energize those within the organization.
