Job Description

The role of Strategic Business Development Professional will be to generate new business for the company's market leading technology and convergence centre.

You will be tasked to;

  • Develops new strategic accounts through targeted prospecting activities across specified market sectors
  • Builds and maintains a pipeline of opportunity across all of intelligent monitoring and building management service lines (e.g. remote security system monitoring, dedicated pods, hosted / managed services) that supports consistent achievement of activity metrics and sales targets
  • Exceeds personal annual sales revenue and profit margin targets
  • Produces and executes a clear and focused business development plan
  • Leverages relationships with supply chain partners to identify and close new business opportunities
  • Assists with the promotion of new services and solutions to create additional recurring revenue streams
  • Maintains an accurate sales database, pipeline and records using the company's Salesforce CRM system
  • Implements cross-selling initiatives with other Mitie group companies to develop new business.

The Successful Applicant

This role is best suited to a strategic sales professional with a strong business development background possessing the following key skills and competencies:

  • Proven experience of generating new business in the security services sector or in similar markets - e.g. technology and communications, building management, managed services, etc.
  • Proven track-record of securing large contracts with national / multi-national organisations operating in public and private market sectors
  • Demonstrable and progressive track-record of hitting sales revenue and gross profit targets
  • Evidence of working in a consultative and solution-driven environment
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and communication centre environments
  • Ability to formulate and execute marketing and business development strategies to identify new business opportunities
  • Experience of developing and managing relationships with key channel partners - e.g. manufacturers, service partners, etc.
  • A self-starter who is enthusiastic, organised and focused.
  • Strong research, qualification and analytical skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and numerical reasoning skills.
  • IT literate - advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to present and communicate in a professional manner and at senior management / board level
  • Strong understanding of professional and structured sales and key account management processes.

This role will require frequent travel to Northern Ireland and will accrue a highly competitive salary, potential to double earnings through a strong commission structure with the addition of a company care and fuel card, pension and private medical cover as well as expenses.
