Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Strategy & Planning Manager with a highly regulated business in Bristol. You will be responsible for co-ordinating a variety of workstreams across the business, to ensure delivery of projects to strict deadlines. In addition you will:

- Take ownership of the overall project management of the production and submission of the Company's Business Plans (in this planning period; PR19), delivering the project within the agreed timescales, costs and quality targets

- Review lessons learnt from the previous business planning process and incorporate necessary changes within the planning process where agreement and approval is reached by the Executive and PR19 Strategy Group

- Maintain document control and governance processes of Regulatory and Statutory guidance documents and key internal documents related to production of the Business Plan and other regulatory projects, including the submission documents

- Produce and maintain project plans, Gantt charts and other project management tools for managing the projects, identifying key milestones and decision points

- Maintain action and decision logs of key actions relating to the business plan and other regulatory projects

- Maintain a log of correspondence with regulators and stakeholders

- Own, develop and maintain a Risk Register of the issues associated with the delivery of the Business Plan, and use this to brief the Strategy Group, Board and other stakeholders as appropriate

- Establish and manage Working Groups across the business to support the production of the Business Plan and regulatory projects

- Manage the contributions of external consultants to the Business Plan and regulatory projects

The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • Have previous experience in of strategy, project management or business planning from either the public or private sector.
  • Have strong project management skills, and experience in operating and maintaining a system of project controls, in a project management environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate that you can deliver on time within tight deadlines and to budget, and work within corporate governance procedures
  • Have an understanding of customer research, including willingness to pay techniques
  • Possess highly effective communication skills in order to effectively engagement with key internal and external stakeholders, manage others and gain co-operation, where necessary, to deliver the project.
  • Possess high levels of influencing and collaborative skills in working with a wide variety of personnel from different backgrounds and with diverse roles within the business, including at senior levels
