Job Description

Steady growth and a number of exciting new projects has given rise to a new opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join the North West-based design team. Input to the projects is likely to be varied but will include the requirement to:

  • Undertake detailed engineering design working on a variety of commissions in the North West and elsewhere. Mainly in the commercial and industrial sectors
  • Preparing technical schedules, reports, designs and sketches at a variety of project workstages
  • Plan and help manage CAD documentation and BIM models of design work, by working closely with Technicians
  • Represent the business at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers.
  • Ensuring service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget, developing a commercial awareness and beginning to manage financial aspects of projects.
  • Ensure that appropriate service/design decisions are met, consulting with internal and external mentors and stakeholders where appropriate.

The Successful Applicant

As an experienced structural design engineer, it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Solid foundation of experience of structural design engineering
  • Chartered status ideally
  • Ability to accept a degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently.
  • Keen interpersonal skills with the ability to propose multiple solutions to Clients and objectively summarise the benefits and shortfalls of each.
  • Experience of AutoCAD, Revit, CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, preferred although not essential.
  • Accreditation from a chartered institute desirable.
