Supplier Quality Lead (Procurement)

Through procurement best practice, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business' products and services are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations. You will make sure that suppliers provide continuous improvements and continue to meet quality standards required, whilst minimising costs and maximise customer satisfaction. Essentially, this role will ensure that the business delivers consistent and enhanced quality products, whilst maintaining their competitive position in the market.
Global Spend: Oversee a £500m spend across materials & chemical and indirect procurement.
Budgeting: Prepare an annual Supplier Quality budget and forecasts and manage budget from identification to completion of projects.
Project Management: Work alongside the procurement and supply chain team to ensure that project run smoothly and successfully, through strong supplier management.
Team Management: Manage, coach and develop a team of direct and indirect reports around the world.
Best Practice Procedures: Lead the creation and implementation of best practice, ensuring that supplier quality, policies, processes are in place to aid and improve operational supplier performance. Work with key stakeholders to design and implement a framework and product approval policy which ensures the procurement team have a first class process.
Suppliers: Manage and develop supplier relationship, whilst designing the metrics and supplier performance indicators. - Make effective use of KPIs and SLAs to mitigate risk and ensure high quality contract outcomes
NPD: Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards
Audit: Participate and conduct the supplier external audit programme, in each specified country/region.
Market Understanding: Understand key cost drivers, market trends and best practices across key categories of spend
Internal - Communicate, liaise and enhance relationships with key stakeholders including Procurement Managers, Regulators, Supply Chain and NPD.
External - Develop and maintain strong relationships with all major suppliers to ensure optimal performance and ensure full awareness and compliance of all Quality requirements.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate must have:
- Extensive procurement background, ideally from a manufacturing industry.
- Experience of mentoring or managing staff
- Experience delivering procurement 'best practice'
- Experience in executing quality frameworks that consistently deliver measurable quality
- Good Project Management skillset
- Strong Stakeholder management & Ability to influencing stakeholder
- Self drive attitude
- Ability to work autonomously
- CIPS (and degree)
- Degree educated
- Fluent English is essential, other European languages are useful
