About Our Client

Our client is a leading electronics organsiation based in the west midlands.

Job Description

The supply chain manager will be expected to ensure the following tasks are completed on a regular basis

  • To ensure forecast data is loaded into the MRP system to drive component purchases and subsequent production requirements.
  • Manage and communicate component shortages in conjunction with the purchasing team, and develop appropriate plans to improve lead times.
  • Ensure OTIF target of 95% is achieved
  • Manage component shortages into the production arena to minimise operational downtime, and progress other products that have good component availability
  • Set and make recommendations for improving effectiveness of policy & procedures
  • Identify training needs (maintain Customer satisfaction, Quality, reduce workplace injuries).
  • Train & Evaluate core teams and maintain accurate skills matrices
  • Ensure an effective and efficient production plan is produced and communicated to the business as appropriate.
  • Maintain budgeted efficiency levels within all production departments
  • Drive the Continuous Improvement process to achieve cost savings
  • Develop new manufacturing processes to streamline production and lead times
  • Make recommendations to the board of Directors on what products should be manufactured in house and what should be sub contracted
  • Using the sales forecast ensure that production is planned to fill available capacity
  • Ensure compliance to the companies Health & Safety policy, and ensure attendance from the Operations team at any H&S meetings as required
  • Maintain appropriate process mapping documentation to support audit requirements from both external bodies and our customers.

Qualifications & Aptitudes

  • Ability to drive change management through effective leadership
  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • High level of Excel skills
  • Full understanding of production planning
  • Lean management knowledge
  • Ability to provide exceptional levels of customer service, and quality
  • Experience within the electronics industry is a distinct advantage
  • Strong knowledge or ERP/MRP systems
  • Full understanding of supply chain principles
  • Good business knowledge
  • Ability to interpret and challenge the status quo
  • Articulation with good verbal and written skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Organisation skills
  • Able to work as a team player
  • Strong motivational skills
  • Full driving licence
