Job Description

  • Develop and implement a common Key Supplier management/relationship system which interfaces with the HMG's Crown Supplier system;
  • Develop metrics to monitor the Health of the Supply Chain and use these to introduce new initiatives which increase the attractiveness of the NDA Estate to the Supply Chain.
  • Create and maintain "Supply Chain maps" relevant to the NDA Estate.
  • Support the development and introduction of a common Category Management system capable of;
  • Identifying and publishing suitable "Pipelines"
  • Identifying Estate wide critical suppliers and
  • Supporting critical Supplier development
    • Support the development of new:
  • SME targets and action plans
    • UK Growth pipelines
    • Supply Chain Development and Sustainability strategies and
    • New supplier entrant strategy
      • Deliver the National Supply Chain event
      • Support SME Steering Groups (Regional and National)
      • Represent at external supply chain meetings, present the Estate and supply chain initiatives/opportunities
      • Supporting the SFT on SLC/Tier 2 performance reviews, procurement strategies, sanction requests as well as supporting the assurance function as the Supply Chain subject matter experts.
      • Maintain and develop the NDA Estate SME Mentor Scheme
      • Identify sponsor and present any commercial LFE which might be relevant to the broader commercial interactions.
      • Supporting the investigation of Supply Chain complaints and issues both internally and externally via schemes such as the Governments Mystery Shopper process.
      • Collection and presentation of key Supply Chain performance data and presenting this as information capable of facilitating decision making.
      • Update and management of the risk and opportunity system as it relates to supply chain risk and opportunities.
      • Champion the use of "Lean Procurement Tools" across the Estate and then monitor performance against the Governments 120 day target.
      • Leading the introduction of Contracts Finder by the Estates key Tier 2 suppliers.

The Successful Applicant

  • In depth knowledge of the nuclear supply environment
  • Previous demonstrable experience of Supply Chain management, Category management and performance measurement.

Vocational / management training - Strategic thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills

  • Solid track record in hands on procurement and supply chain management. Identifying and understanding drivers for, philosophy development, bespoke approach / mechanism adoption, techniques and implementation, from a business wide perspective, of supply chain management implementation largely in a project specific environment, with a corporate back drop.

Understand and be able to deal with challenges associate with the intricacies of change management both technically and culturally
