About Our Client

My client is a very well established supplier of bespoke electronics into some fabulous clients within its particular industry. The company are undergoing some development and changes at the current time, and are hence looking to upskill various members of the team, and add a Supply Chain Manager into an evolving dynamic. Supplying a high tech product, an affinity with electronics and electronic engineering would certainly be beneficial to an application.

Job Description

The specific requirements of the job are as follows:

  • Take responsibility for supply chain related organisational operational and financial targets
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory management for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Ensure site compliance to global and local purchasing policies and legislative requirements
  • Lead development and execution of strategic cost savings initiatives
  • Lead and negotiate sourcing projects as they relate to assigned site, this includes developing project plans, timely status reporting, and providing direction to key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and advise on the development of the supply chain function, reporting monthly and analysing the effectiveness of the supply chain function
  • Management of suppliers to support 100% availability and control of inventory levels and space requirements.
  • Ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency of the ERP system. Maintaining and improving the data that supports the Supply Chain activity
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to evaluate and identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities, formulating the business case for changes and presenting them to stakeholders
  • Formulating the business case for changes to the system, analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste and optimise customer service.
  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, ensuring the appropriate level of buy-in from those functions.
  • Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
  • Take the lead in the management of materials sourcing for new product introduction and ECO's. Taking the lead in the identification and selection of suppliers

The Successful Applicant

While not essential, in order to to apply for the role of Supply Chain Manager, it would be extremely beneficial to have a university degree or higher. Some demonstrable experience of managing Supply Chains is, of course, essential, and any experience within a lean manufacturing environment is very desirable, along with the ability to implement lean manufacturing techniques onto a traditional manufacturing process. Furthermore, the successful candidate must have experience of using and manipulating ERP and MRP systems.
