Job Description

  • Create, develop and maintain bespoke web applications.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of MYSQL databases.
  • Develop and maintain MYSQL queries.
  • Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
  • Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules.
  • Build efficient, testable and reusable front end modules.
  • Advise on and implement technologies that will improve the operation of the business.
  • Create ETL scripts to extract data from company systems.
  • Create and maintain relevant documentation.

The Successful Applicant


  • Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks (such as Laravel or Cake PHP)
  • Knowledge of object orientated PHP programming.
  • Understanding accessibility and security compliance.
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • User authentication and authorisation between multiple systems, servers, and environments
  • Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Familiarity with MYSQL/SQL databases and their declarative query languages
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies(Javascript,HTML 5 and CSS3)
  • Degree in Software Development or relevant experience.


  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
  • Experience of Vagrant and virtual development environments.
  • LINUX web server configuration and maintenance.
