Job Description

This is a newly created position and will report directly to the Head of EMEA Tax. You will be in a leadership position in a small team that is tasked with assessing and advising on the tax consequences of their business activities, development and expansion of the organisation and managing the overall international tax risk and opportunities of the company's affairs in EMEA.



The team divides up responsibility for the tax projects and issues arising out of certain business units and/or by geographical region. However, this is a flexible arrangement and you must always be able to respond to changing business situations in other regions or divisions. Specifically the role will involve the following:

  • Providing tax support and advice to business projects and working with a broad range of stakeholders to work through challenges and problems to ensure project success
  • Advising on and structuring of the businesses activities to take into account; effective tax supply chain management, transfer pricing policies, IP protection, research and development and M&A
  • Taking a leadership role to more junior staff in their professional development but also in guiding them through complex projects in multiple jurisdictions
  • Working closely with the wider tax team internationally, treasury and business teams on the tax implications related to new business areas, changes in group structures and broader business changes
  • Building a close and positive working relationship with the relationship with the relevant tax authorities across EMEA ensuring queries and audits are managed effectively
  • Providing support to any acquisitions or disposals the business may engage in

The Successful Applicant

You will be a qualified tax professional ideally with ACA/ACCA/CTA or hold an equivalent qualification. You are also likely to possess the following:

  • Significant in house tax experience focusing on complex international tax projects
  • Strong project management skills and experience gained in large multinational organisation where the tax function worked closely with the business to aid success on multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to get on well people at all levels
