About Our Client

The team are recruiting for a Tax Investigations Manager to sit within the Tax investigations and Disputes team, providing tax investigations, tax dispute and tax disclosure services to a wide range of internal and external clients. The team work across the Private Client Services Group and Business Tax Department.

Job Description

The team are recruiting for a Tax Investigations Manager to sit within the Tax investigations and Disputes team, providing tax investigations, tax dispute and tax disclosure services to a wide range of internal and external clients. The team work across the Private Client Services Group and Business Tax Department.

Within the role you will manage a portfolio of tax investigation, tax dispute and tax disclosure cases. Reporting to the Tax Investigations Associate for each assignment, being responsible for the more complex tax investigation cases including COP8, COP9, LDF.

Additional responsibilities will include
* As appropriate to the circumstances, producing letters and reports to HMRC with minimal support from partners.
* Negotiate with HMRC as appropriate.
* Manage client relationship and provide relevant fee quotes to clients. Clients in this context can include lawyers / other accountants acting for the taxpayer.
* Understand client needs and communicate with them in layman's terms where appropriate
* Responsible for controlling WIP on allocated jobs, including billing and debt collection, liaising with tax investigation fee insurers where required.
* Assist in the promotion of tax investigation fee insurance
* Manage and delegate effectively to junior staff when required.
* Assist in the production of technical material and/or marketing initiatives such as writing articles, fact sheets, update intranet/internet pages and to attend marketing functions
* Prepare and present and/or assist in the preparation of presentations and training courses
