Job Description

As Technical Manager, you are a member of the Management Team and will be responsible for driving standards including quality assurance and continuous improvement throughout the business. You will be confident in assessing and managing technical risks and ensuring customer technical requirements are met.

KEY DUTIES

  • Being a key member of the HACCP team, directly involved in HACCP implementation and review.
  • You will look after the Tesco and COOP accounts, KPI's, QAS's, attend product reviews and take ownership for the day to day maintenance of the web based system.
  • Liaise with NPD and Process Development on new and existing products with regards to product safety and quality consistency.
  • Helping to maintain current accreditation's including BRC
  • Confidently and considerately dealing with customer representatives from retail multiples.
  • Specifications writing and updating as required.
  • Maintaining product safety, composition and labelling within current legislative requirements
  • Investigating out of specification results from microbiological or other testing; non-conformance's raised from internal audits
  • Participate in Supplier Auditing where required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Suitable applicants will have proven Technical Management experience within a Chilled Food manufacturing business directly involved with at least one of the major multiples, ideally with low and high risk products.
  • Successfully been audited to Grade A BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 6.
  • A strong working knowledge of Quality Systems and HACCP. You will need to have excellent communication skills and qualifications in Advanced Food Safety or equivalent.
  • IT literate with experience of PC based applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access. SAP & Q-Pulse.

Demonstrate a successful track record of working as part of a team, preferably in multi functional teams. Teamwork is a key part of the structure.
