Job Description

  • Delivers strategic technical plan for site & support group strategy
  • Provides advice, support and decision making to colleagues across the business in identifying, escalating and managing risks, dealing with incidents and working together to improve processes.
  • Manages raw material quality and compliance & welfare & supplier assurance , scorecards , approval list and audits
  • Manages agreed site metrics and strategic delivery at site level
  • Delivers strategic technical plan for site & support group strategy
  • Supports External regulatory includes incident management
  • Technical adviser for 3rd party customers & 3rd party audit & customer service
  • Supports as required Industry trading bods
  • Liaises with Retail operations Technical team (compliance, food safety, manufacturing and H+S)
  • Liaises cross functionally at site level
  • Build, develop & lead a team of passionate colleagues to drive the quality agenda into all site processes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in relevant science discipline
  • Good working knowledge of all accreditation and legislation
  • Knowledge of H&S, legal compliance, compositional and quality aspects of products in the defined area and a clear understanding of their related technologies
  • Specialised technical or manufacturing knowledge preferably of products in a defined area (this will be category specific)
  • Lead assessor qualification and/or significant experience of supplier auditing
  • Experience of working with 3rd party testing organisations
  • Understanding of the UK and EU legal framework, in particular General Product Safety Directive and other product specific legislation
