Reporting to the Sales Director, as Technical Sales Engineer you will help to front and promote Uni-Mill Engineering and be the initial point of contact with customers, both existing and new.

You will promote Uni-Mill's unique services to achieve growth, creating and managing relationships at all levels of the customer allowing Uni-Mill to grow revenue whilst meeting margin expectation in our core competencies.

Working in a collaborative environment your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To create and maintain an effective and efficient system for all customer quotations.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer quotations and sales proposals and where applicable include any specific terms and conditions to meet both customer and company needs.
  • Where applicable complete New Product Planning Review forms.
  • Working closely with the Directors to ensure that all customer requirements are understood, met and maintained.
  • Developing new and maintaining long-term relationships with customers through managing and maintaining their full requirements.
  • Business development through marketing and new business strategy, both by phone contact and where/when applicable organising customer visits.
  • Assist in, and where applicable Lead, in specific/identified projects from an initial enquiry, throughout a customer purchase order, delivery of the goods and after sales support.
  • To provide and maintain a key point of contact for customers to both their pre- and after-sales requirements to include technical support/advice and after sales support.
  • Customer Liaison, to include the chasing of submitted quotations and where applicable the securing of a customer purchase order.
  • Co-ordinate and expedite all customer purchase orders to ensure that agreed dates are met and maintained.



When and where applicable to support the functions/services of the Buyer, especially to provide coverage for Holidays/Sickness

The Technical Sales Engineer will ideally have:

  • A proven background in engineering.
  • Worked with a sales department providing technical assistance with customer's enquiries.
  • Practical Precision engineering and technical knowledge to be able to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Cradle to grave understanding of precision engineering and sub contract
  • Ability to understand detailed engineering drawings and both customer and industry general/international specifications.
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and create Supplier Agreements.
  • Be mindful of pressures put on the production team and their capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Be able to work under pressure and with the minimum of supervision
