About Our Client

Our client is a growing fashion retailer who are recognised for the quality of their products and are looking for a strong, commercial Trading Merchandiser who will be able to support the team.

Job Description

The Merchandiser will be reponsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecast product sales, stock, margin, returns & intake for the business
  • Analyses sales data, identifying issues and trends, interpreting results and providing sound recommendations
  • Provide the business with clarity on product performance through data analysis to enable effective decision making. Maximise trading opportunities to minimise stock holding and meet company KPI's. Review on-going performance of the department and take appropriate action to maximise profits
  • Propose commercial tactics & strategies in conjunction with Marketing to maximise business performance. Proactive in recommending the tailoring of the mailing plan/content on an ongoing basis following season launch
  • Identify stock for promotions and tailor the communications plan accordingly
  • Responsible for the end-to-end sale planning process tailoring roll ups to meet the differing needs of each channel. Submission of assumptions to ensure business KPIs are met/adjusted accordingly
  • OTB management & proposal of re-buy spend. Propose yarn/fabric commitments where appropriate and manage in season
  • Manage the placement, tracking & delivery or orders in line with the critical path
  • Prepares and issue weekly management information and reports
  • Manage in season supplier relationships to ensure that business objectives are met
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships to ensure B&M objectives are understood & shared
  • Support to the Merchandise Assistant to deliver her objectives
  • Ad hoc projects

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will need the following skills:

  • You will be a driven, experienced Merchandiser with strong commercial acumen & evident Trading instinct. Expertise in multi-channel merchandising is preferable though not essential.
  • With your excellent analytical skills and entrepreneurial spirit, you will have the ability to persuade and influence others. Self-motivated and enthusiastic, you will be confident taking ownership of the Trading function and delivering results.
  • You will be a confident and effective communicator who is able to build strong working relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent systems skills a must, in particular Microsoft Excel are essential. If you are ready for a new challenge, then this could be the role for you.
