Job Description

Role Purpose: To manage the Treasury operations of the Group. This role provides functional support to the Group Financial Controller on all Treasury matters including cash management, banking, risk exposures & mitigation and, support in managing the Group's banking relationships.

Key Responsibilities for the Treasurer:

  • Treasury Operations
    • Overall responsibility for the running of daily Treasury operations at the Head Office and across the Group including the Head Office Treasury control environment.
    • Reviewing, monitoring and establishing the appropriate trading strategy to ensure that forecast currency positions are, at all times in line with Group policy and agreed strategy.
    • Overall responsibility for the working of the Treasury Management System, particularly the supplier relationship, maintenance cycle, and working with the rest of the Treasury Team to ensure it remains effective for Group Treasury.
  • Debt
    • Assist in the arrangement and implementation of the Group's debt across bank and debt capital markets
    • Utilisation and maintenance of the Group's drawn debt particularly covenant compliance and commitment fees.
    • Managing Trade Finance across the Group including monitoring utilisation and adequacy of Group Trade Finance Credit lines and implementing necessary adjustments as required.
    • Management of all documentation to ensure the Group can execute transactions with internal and external counterparties appropriately, including negotiation of ISDA documentation and uncommitted facilities.
  • Risk Management.
    • Working with divisions and operating companies to ensure financial risk is correctly identified and advising on appropriate risk mitigation and instruments. Foreign Exchange Transaction Risk, Balance Sheet FX management and Commodity risk
    • Monitoring and reporting on Treasury related risk limits providing periodic input into Board reporting
    • Consolidation, and reporting of, operational reporting of Group Treasury activity
    • Consolidating and reporting on Bank counterparty risk and performance
    • Ongoing regulatory compliance such as EMIR reporting


  • Cash Management.
    • Forecasting and management of the Group's overall liquidity position identifying liquidity shortfalls and mitigation of the same.
    • Management of Group Cash ensuring effective liquidity management at the Head Office level.
    • Manage the Global Cash Management operation including local, regional and global cash pooling/offset arrangements
    • Working closely with Group Tax to ensure the Group manages it's cash in the most appropriate manner in line with taxation requirements and obligations
  • Assist in the maintenance of key banking relationships including a regular review of transactional activity and performance
  • Treasury Accounting. Produce analysis required, and any additional input, for period-end reporting, including half-year and year-end analytical requirements and liaison with external Auditors.
  • Management and supervision of direct report to deliver key responsibilities allocating key tasks to ensure positions and daily tasks are complete.

The Successful Applicant

The Treasurer will be

- AMCT or ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified

- Will have a proven track record within a large, international business in treasury

- Will have exposure to complex FX structures and international cash management

- Will have experience of managing a team

- Will be driven with a mind set of continuously looking to improve business procedures

- Ability to understand risk modelling and fair value instruments

- Ability to work with a vast range of individuals, as well as internal and external stakeholders
