About Our Client

Our client is in the midst of a large scale turn-around project and after a recent internal restructure, are now looking for a new Treasury Accountant to join the business.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the preparation of Group monthly management accounts for Treasury entities
  • Take ownership of the review process for Virtual Bank Accounts entries, outputs and associated reporting and is responsible for monthly analysis and interpretation of Foreign Exchange (FX) results
  • Liaises with all segments of the Group to ensure accurate and timely reporting of intercompany balances and Virtual Bank Account transactions
  • Ensure that data is correctly entered into the Treasury Management System, processes are robust and efficient and issues are resolved quickly. Suggests and develops solutions that improve the efficiency, accuracy and transparency of the accounting process.
  • Uses technical knowledge of IAS 39 accounting rules to perform reporting of and fair value accounting for FX, fuel derivatives and interest rate swaps
  • Maintains and manages hedge documentation and assists in annual hedge effectiveness testing
  • Efficiently manages the preparation of the annual Treasury outputs for use in the published financial statements, including management of relevant financial instrument analysis as required for the full year consolidated reporting to support the disclosures in the published financial statements under IFRS 7;
  • Liaises directly with external auditors at half year and year end and ensures processes and controls are sufficient to meet external audit requirement for the Group

The Successful Applicant

  • Hands on experience of treasury management systems
  • Ideally have previous experience of working in a Treasury Accounting function
  • SME for treasury-specific financial reporting knowledge (particularly IAS39, IFRS7) and solid understanding of Treasury derivative products and how they are valued

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA or CIMA), and a desire to start studying for AMCT
  • Advanced user of excel
