Job Description

The UK Finance Manager will be responsible for the following:

Production of MOD Financial Statements Using Sage 200

  • Ownership of month end process and MOD management accounts
  • Calculation of month end journal postings - sales, COS, payroll, monthly accruals
  • Review of AP ledger and cash books
  • Fixed asset register reconciliations
  • Production of P&Ls and supporting commentary
  • Production of balance sheet and supporting schedules
  • Production of store P&L's, performance analysis, investment appraisal and supporting management decision making
  • Working with management team to define the most appropriate monthly management information and defining processes to produce the same

Weekly Reporting

  • Producing daily / weekly trading reports using data from front and back of house systems
  • Working with management team to define appropriate management reporting for launch phase and processes for reporting the same
  • Work with management team to define end state reporting and the processes for producing the same


  • Ownership of the monthly and weekly payroll processes
  • Working with payroll bureau to perform defined checks and ensure all employees are paid correctly and on time


  • Production of quarterly VAT returns
  • Ensuring payment of PAYE and other amounts to HMRC on a timely basis


  • Input into design and implementation of new processes (suppliers & in-store)
  • Defining and documenting finance processes to allow delegation of routine tasks
  • Defining processes for reconciling supplier payments to purchase orders and ensuring the business remains within its credit limits

Cash Book Reconciliation

  • Weekly cash and credit card reconciliations
  • Key role in the implementation of cash reconciliation tool to automate the cash reconciliation process


  • Tracking of actual against planned capex spend and ensuring one version of the truth between property and finance
  • Production of statutory accounts for MOD Pizza UK Limited
  • Direct support to the Finance Director

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have the following:


  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Technologically savvy with excellent Excel skills
  • Previous payroll experience an advantage
  • An understanding and commitment to MOD's values
