The UK business has developed a significant waste service outsourcing function working across the public and private sector businesses in the UK. This service is undergoing significant growth and concept development as opportunities broaden within the wider international community and market position is established.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Management and development of the UK waste services supply chain establishing formal commercial and operational performance agreement.
  2. Minimisation of risk by ensuring a robust waste supplier approval process is maintained and complied with throughout the business
  3. Ensuring all contractors are governed by contractual agreements
  4. Competitive market value is maintained
  5. Processes and procedures relating to supply chain management are relevant, robust and facilitate capability whilst minimising risk
  6. Ensuring that all processes and procedures developed are relevant to the values and requirements and are replicable in other countries of operation
  7. Development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with marketing leading waste service supply chain partners at a senior level
  8. To ensure compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.
  9. To lead or participate in such cross business projects and assignments as may be required.
  10. To ensure the ongoing development of employees within their area of responsibility, to establish succession plans for all key positions.
  11. Engagement and provision of sourcing support to the UK business identifying approved suppliers to meet existing contract requirements.
  12. Provision of strategic support to UK operational team in the management of their contractual relationships with clients
  13. To seek to improve and develop systems and processes within the business to ensure maximum efficiency and good financial controls.
  14. To provide reporting to the business on performance both of the Supply Chain tem and the partners.
  15. To manage a team of 3 - Supply Chain Buyer, Sourcing and Service Coordinator
  16. Recommend and implement changes that deliver efficiency and added value to our client base.
  17. Any other ad hoc duties, which may be requested by management.

The Successful Applicant

  • Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and practical experience of waste management
  • Supply Chain knowledge and experience
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Experience within the FM or outsourcing environment.
  • Numerate with a working knowledge of IT and experience of identifying improvements through the analysis and use of data


  • A recognised professional qualification (for example, MCIPS)
  • Experience within the FM or outsourcing environment.

  • Able to effectively lead a team of professional staff and act as a mentor to less experienced clients
  • Professional, committed and with capability to resolve issues and develop solutions
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, clients and supply chain partners building effective and collaborative relationships
  • Experience of working with an extended supply chain developing and delivering large supply chain relationships into complex operational environments
  • Familiarisation with working across multiple international cultures developing and delivering strong commercial solutions
  • Leadership skills with the ability to prioritise extensive workloads within multiple environments and ensure that communication is maintained and deadlines met
