Job Description

  • Proactively manage and develop professional relationships with a portfolio of VAT clients.

  • Proactively manage and develop professional relationships supporting other services lines within the firm such as audit, corporate finance and business restructuring.

  • Pro-actively ensure WIP is monitored and liaise with senior staff on client billing.

  • Provide high quality VAT advisory services from routine queries to larger advisory projects.

  • Support business development initiatives and actively manage own client portfolio to generate new work where appropriate.

  • Contribute to sharing knowledge within the wider VAT practice on technical, client service and risk matters.

  • Work on own initiative on a daily basis.

  • Proactively manage self-development and continuing professional education with a view to building upon basic technical and other skills.

The Successful Applicant

  • VAT background and reasonable level of experience is essential.

  • Strong VAT technical skills.

  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritise and complete work to a high standard and to specific deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Works well as part of a team and is able to build effective internal relationships at all levels.

  • Ability to analyses problems, identify VAT risks/issues and identify potential solutions.

  • Starting to gain staff management experience.

  • Able to build strong client relationships and effectively manage client expectations.

  • Educated to a degree level.

  • CTA and / or CA qualified.
