About Our Client

Our client, a leading multinational bank, is looking for a VPin Compliance for their DIFC entity here in the UAE.

Job Description

The purpose of the Compliance VP is to ensure that the organisation has applied an appropriate Compliance infrastructure, including policies and procedures, which is in line with DFSA rules and regulations and to also act as the MLRO for the DIFC entity.
Other responsibilities shall inclue:
 
  • Build an effective and collaborative working relationship with the DFSA and act as a central point of contact for and manage any DFSA examinations.
  • Keeping compliance documentation up-to-date, including the compliance manual and all related policies and procedures.
  • Act as the money laundering reporting officer in terms of establishing client due diligence practices, AML/KYC training on a regular basis, processes for reporting suspicious activity, producing an annual report to the DIFC Audit Committee.
  • Monitor changes/developments in DIFC/DFSA law/regulation and cascade to business and to coordinate lobbying/thought leadership efforts with the DFSA. Find regulatory solutions to regulatory challenges on a timely basis.
  • Act as a control for the businesses i.e. establish a compliance monitoring program that identifies, tests and evaluates regulatory risk and, that escalates any material issues.
  • Build an effective and collaborative working relationship with the DFSA and act as a central point of contact for and manage any DFSA examinations.
  • Provide timely local regulatory advice and recommendations to the business (including on Prudential Regulation, in partnership with Finance and Risk Functions) on DFSA/DIFC regulatory matters and proactively monitors business specific regulatory developments.
  • Deal with non-routine correspondence to the DFSA (e.g. product approvals, notifications, licence applications/variations)
  • Act as the point of contact between Business compliance MENA and DIFC Country Compliance with respect to the DIFC.
  • Be in close partnership with Business Compliance, to provide advice to business on regulatory compliance queries affecting the DIFC businesses including advice on local regulations and Group/Business compliance policies.
 

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in Audit, Compliance and the control environment in bulge brackets and small brokerages, covering US, UK and ME rules and regulation.
  • BSC, MBA, SI diploma (Regulation & Compliance) etc.
  • Looking for a candidate with wide spread experience accross a number of business lines, i.e. Treasury, Asset Management, Equity Derivatives, Corproate Finance etc.
  • Will consider International Candidate
