The work will involve the following: · Advising day, boarding and international schools on the operation of their contract for educational services (Parent Contract) and associated documents including third party fee agreements, advance school fees schemes and the provision of consumer credit
· Advising schools on the full range of matters affecting the provision of educational services, including but not limited to admissions and exclusions, behaviour and discipline, drugs and substances, data protection, fees and notice, parental responsibility, guardianship
· Advising schools on registration and compliance with statutory inspection requirements
· Advising schools on procedures with Human Rights elements, including complaints handling and the convening of governor review panels
· Advising schools on Child Protection matters, including allegations of abuse
· Advising schools on Special Educational Needs and Disability Discrimination, including defending claims brought in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST)
· Developing new policies and procedures in response to changes in sector practice and the law
Who we're looking for
An NQ to 1 yr PQE Solicitor with skills in order to develop legal advice and action, leadership, business generation, collaboration/people processes, knowledge sharing, financial management, fee earning, quality standards and learning and development.
