As Development Manager you will search for, identify, qualify and manage the relationship throughout the development process beyond signature to execution for large scale industrial projects. (Typically involving supply contracts of several years duration and requiring multi-million pound investment). The role will create and maintain strong relationships in general within the UK business community in the chosen segments and in particular in a domain of evolving legislation and political and public interest.
Your main responsibilities will include
Working on your own -
• Create networks and long term relationships within target industries
• Identify decision makers within targeted accounts and create strong relationships
• Ensure target/customer networking across the organisation
• Identify drivers, turning points, inflexions and inconsistencies that equal opportunity
• Turn opportunities into qualified leads and development projects
• Be the first point of reference to our target client base on our chosen fields
Then Working with a broader team to ensure -
• Lead the development of large projects for all products into the relevant sectors
• Perform preliminary project economics and feasibility studies
• Identify all synergies to be considered in the project
• Lead the project development process, driving and animating the project development team
• Drive for the development of creative and sound technical and operational solutions
• Evaluate competitive solutions
• Prepare project economics and executive summaries
• Identify and or generate new business opportunities, assessing customers' real needs and requirements
Who we're looking for
• You will hold an Engineering Degree (or equivalent) and ideally have continued studies (e.g. MBA, Masters, PhD etc)
• A proven track record in a Development role for Engineering based solutions to the Chemical, Oil & Gas, or Energy Sectors
• Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work with people, develop trustful personal relationships, negotiate and obtain results by influencing others, interface in a diplomatic manner with a broad range of people
• You will be ideally based within Humber Basin (or close proximity)
• Fluent in English (French skills useful)
• Strong intellectual skills - analytic capabilities, long term vision, willingness to overcome obstacles, ability to remain focus and achieve goals, verbal and written communication
• You will be expected to develop a good knowledge of our, customer processes, products and applications, organisational business / contract models, and project development process
