A Hedge Fund manager, establishedfor about 15 years, have set up a separate new fund, in partnership with another top tier Hedge Fund.
The focus of the new fund will be model trading. Within this new fund they are taking much of the infrastructure and many of the staff which worked inthe established Fund and sothey are looking to hire a Financial Controller into this position.
Who we're looking for
• Very strong academic background - Good A levels (B's minimum, preferably A's) • Degree educated - Ideally 2.1's and above • Very bright • Hard working • Self starter - There isn't going to be anyone to provide hands on management and direction. • 4-5 post qualification experience. • Strong Excel • Day to day responsibilities - Invoices and payments are made by the external accounts. This process needs to be closely managed and approvals given. • Day to day responsibilities - Manage financing between the various group companies. • Monthly responsibilities - Assist the middle office in any month end problems. • Monthly responsibilities - Actively manage and proof month end accounting reports from the accountants. • Monthly responsibilities - Closely manage the regulatory reporting • Manage the annual accounts and audit process. • Manage the wide range of accounting and tax issues with tax accountants, lawyers, HMRC. Present issues to the advisors, and report back to partners and directors on issues and options. Many of these are highly complex issues. (They are not looking for a tax expert, but they are looking for someone who can deal with our tax expert advisors and convert their opinions back into English for the senior managers of the company. • Improve controls, documentation and automation around the whole accounting process. • Fu
