Calypso migration Business Analyst

As part of that change a project is underway to migrate Medium Term Notes (MTN's) and subordinated debt from Wall Street (WSS) to Calypso to improve operational efficiency and the data quality that is sent to downstream Finance and Risk applications.

Within a team of project managers and business analysts, the role holder will be responsible for delivering the following.
• Understand the current operating model for Medium Term Notes (MTN's) on Wall St Systems (WSS) and its strengths and weaknesses from a Finance perspective
• Understand the key Finance requirements and deliverables for the future state operating model.
• Participate in formulation and documentation of the migration strategy for moving MTN's from WSS to Calypso.
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline business processes and drive improvements.
• Formulation and documentation of comprehensive set of test cases for Systems Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Participate in SIT and UAT testing the Finance elements of the proposed operating model including the capture and logging of defects and issues arising in UAT. Work with Technology to resolve, and track resolution.
• Support users with issues during UAT testing
• Support Finance users through initial go live phase of project prior to handing support over the BAU support.
• Participate in formulation and documentation of the cutover plan for moving MTN's from WSS to Calypso.
• Communicate regularly with project team and stakeholders to understand concerns, highlight risks, manage expectations and minimise scope creep.
• Regular report progress to Finance Change management by way of structured report and weekly updates

Who we're looking for
• Treasury and/ or investment banking product knowledge, including a detailed accounting knowledge for the following products
• Debt Instruments - Medium Term Notes and Subordinated Debt.
• Derivatives - Interest Rate and Cross Currency Swaps (an understanding of exotic swaps would help, such as CMS, Index linked, Barrier Options and Range Accruals).
• Hybrid Instruments - Equity Preference Shares.
• Money Market products - Vanilla Loans & Deposits.
They also need to understand concepts like:
• Classifications of Financial Assets & Liabilities.
• Hedge Accounting.
• Term funding, Liquidity & Capital management.
• Accounting qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong team player who has a proactive mindset and a proven track record of delivering to exacting deadlines.
• Ability to produce clear, well structured documentation, e.g. business requirements, functional specifications, testing approach and results etc.
• Ability and willingness to challenge opinions, to offer alternatives and to construct a compelling argument to support an opinion.
• Detailed knowledge of Calypso
• Experience working in a Treasury function
• Knowledge of current accounting standards, including UK GAAP and IFRS
• Experience of documenting processes, data flows and operating models.
• Strong influencing skills.
