 Proactively engage the business to act on category focused opportunities to ensure both brands and NPD benefit from category thinking

 Play a significant role in the development and on-going refreshment of 'thought leading' Category Visions/Strategies

• To represent sales in the development of brand strategy/ NPD, for one of the businesses core categories and thus ensure alignment across the sales and brand strategies.

• To provide expertise and category leadership on all categories in the focus accounts (direct responsibility for Tesco or JS as a minimum), in particular ensuring:
o Sell in and implementation of Category vision
o Ongoing objective category expertise for the Account Teams and their respective buyers
o Best in class Merchandising and Shopper understanding
o To lead range review events
o Category input into Joint Business Plans

• Drive value creation and profit contribution by identifying
o Distribution gaps
o Mix management / core ranging
o New listings based on Category rationale
o Availability opportunities
Best practice for promotions

Who we're looking for
The suitable candidate will have a background in Category Management in FMCG. Ideally you will have managed major multiple accounts before. Ideally you will have had experience in Sales before moving into Category Management as the role requires you going into big grocery accounts and advising and shaping category visionsfrom a commercial perspective.
